Commitment to Maturity

Dear Members of the Leadership Maturity Community,

As a member of this community, I commit to working towards lifelong learning and developing my skills as a leader. I believe that mature leaders are needed to co-create solutions to complex community problems and contribute to a regenerative and inclusive recovery from the pandemic. Moreover, the long-term need for leaders to solve complex social problems, address inequity, and combat global warming demands that we cultivate leadership maturity in ourselves and others.

I understand that leadership maturity is not a destination, but a lifelong journey. Therefore, I commit to investing time and effort in developing my skills and knowledge as a leader. I will seek out opportunities to learn from diverse perspectives, challenge my assumptions, and experiment with new approaches to problem-solving. I will engage in reflective practices that enable me to learn from my successes and failures, and apply what I learn to make a positive impact in my community.

I also recognize that leadership maturity is not just about developing individual skills, but about cultivating collective leadership capacity. Therefore, I commit to working collaboratively with others, leveraging our diverse talents and experiences to co-create solutions to community problems. I will seek to build relationships of trust and respect, and engage in dialogue with empathy and curiosity. I will work to foster a culture of inclusivity and innovation, where diverse perspectives are valued and integrated into our collective decision-making processes.

Finally, I commit to being a responsible and ethical leader, who considers the long-term impact of my actions on people and the planet. I will work to combat inequity and promote social justice, and contribute to efforts to address global warming and create a sustainable future for all. I will lead with integrity and humility, recognizing that leadership is a privilege and a responsibility.
