BLI 130 Co-creating Leadership Capacity
Upon demonstration of the Orange Belt skills, knowledge, and attitudes, the learner will be eligible to take the promotion exam for BL Green Belt.
Objectives:
An Orange Belter should be able to share the following portfolio and demonstrate the following competencies:
A.Portfolio
shares his/her co-ownership and co-creation insights connecting her journey to the Customer Persona and Deep Dive experience about addressing the needs of a client segment and insights (individual output, video format)
demonstrate Public Narrative ver.3 describing her co-creation project (individual output, video format)
share a project/program co-creation canvas ver.2 (team output, video format)
shared a municipality/city 2050 scenario and explain how it contributes to provincial 2050 scenario (team output, video format)
draft municipality/city policy or ordinance to set up 3-5 year sustainability systems (team output, video and document format)
signed partnership MOU with a local institution (school, church, business, club, civic organization, etc) to support 3-5 year sustainability (team output, video and document format)
Delivered Coaching on Public Narrative to at least 2 BL practitioners (videos of 2 coachee's Public Narratives)

2.Competencies

The Orange Belter program is designed to build on the skills and knowledge acquired in the White and Yellow Belter program. Orange Belters are expected to start their leading a downline BL Circle while continuing to participate in their upline BL Circle. The Orange Belt stage may last from 2-12 months, depending on the prior skills and the pace at which they progress.
The Orange Belter program aims to equip participants with the skills to become effective facilitators, coaches, and partners who can lead change initiatives in their communities and organizations. Participants learn how to facilitate dialogue, coach individuals and teams, co-create new partnership arrangements, and develop their leadership skills. Leading a downline BL Circle is required for Orange Belters.
The program consists of several components, including:
Organizing a downline BL Circle: Participants are expected to organize a downline BL Circle. These are are peer-led learning communities that provide support and feedback to individuals who are working on leadership initiatives. Participants learn how to facilitate BL Circles, provide feedback, and create a supportive learning environment.
Dialogue facilitation: Participants learn how to facilitate productive dialogues that enable diverse stakeholders to collaborate effectively. They learn how to create a safe and respectful space for dialogue, manage group dynamics, and promote active listening and constructive feedback.
Leadership coaching: Participants learn how to coach individuals and teams to develop their leadership potential. They learn how to use coaching tools and techniques, set goals, provide feedback, and support individuals to overcome challenges and achieve their objectives.
Partnership development: Participants learn how to co-create new partnership arrangements that enable different stakeholders to work together towards common goals. They learn how to identify partnership opportunities, build trust, manage expectations, and develop effective governance structures.
Personal development: Participants continue developing self-awareness and practicing new leadership skills. They are encouraged to reflect on their experiences, seek feedback from others, and apply new learning in their personal and professional contexts.
The program aims to create a network of leaders who can support each other in driving positive change in their communities and organizations.
Orange Belters who are interested to advance to BL Green Belt (Level 4) are expected to submit their portfolio to their BL Circle Facilitators for validation and sign the Commitment to Membership letter.
